100 Jahre Blasercafé / green coffee

Was there loud sipping at Blasercafé back in the 70s?

Since its foundation in 1922, Blasercafé has made a name for itself as a coffee roasting company. Since Switzerland does not grow coffee for climatic reasons, success in the coffee business is also based on strong and sustainable relationships with coffee producers. In order to be as close as possible to the original product, Blasercafé relies exclusively on imports through its sister company "Blaser Trading". This company concentrates on the trade, transport and storage of green coffee. Over the past decades, strong personal relationships have been established in almost all coffee-growing countries.

Despite the great physical distance to the coffee-growing countries, nothing is left to chance when it comes to the quality of the raw material. Green coffee samples from all over the world are sent in small bags to the Güterbahnhofquartier in Bern. Here they are roasted, ground, tasted and assessed by Blaser coffee experts. Blasercafé even goes one step further in quality assurance. During the transport of the goods, the coffee is tested again and again so that any changes in taste that occur during container shipping, for example, are noticed immediately.
