Coffee in all its facets has been part of the company's DNA since it was founded in 1922. Even the first small retail store had an integrated coffee bar. In the Swiss market, the Blaser family regularly distinguished itself with pioneering achievements with regard to the black beverage. Thus, Blasercafé is largely responsible for the fact that the coffee cult was able to gain a foothold even in the rather tradition-conscious Switzerland. As a founding member of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCA), the company is committed to promoting special brewing methods and innovative coffee ideas, as well as imparting knowledge about the cultivation, processing and preparation of specialty coffee.

BARISTA CREATION FROM THE 1950s?
With the increased importance of specialty coffee, the barista cult also made its way to Switzerland. In the 1990s, "Caffè Roma" at Spitalgasse (now Hodlerstrasse) was one of the first establishments to present Baristi and Italian espressos to the Bernese public. For "Caffè Roma" and the barista scene in Switzerland, Blasercafé created a special espresso blend: "Lilla e rose" da Blaser. This blend, composed in collaboration with an Italian barista, is still one of the most popular espressos in Switzerland.
