It all started when Caroline Santschi registered for one of our coffee courses so that she could surprise Anju with her knowledge and support her project. This gave rise to the idea of asking us for a donation in kind. No sooner said than done, it quickly became clear that we would support the project with a well-preserved portafilter espresso machine and a coffee grinder.
Caroline Santschi on the adventurous delivery of our donation:
"In September, we were able to travel to Nepal with the Rocket coffee machine and grinder in our luggage. Everything went perfectly during the transfer and we were relieved when we were able to leave the airport in Kathmandu with the entire machine in our backpacks. We then had to reassemble the coffee machine and organize a transfer to our sponsored child's home, which we managed to do relatively easily.
After an exhausting and beautiful 14-day trek, we then traveled to our sponsoring child Anju in Dhampus. The joy at the handover of the machine was immense and a few tears of happiness ran down all our faces. The surprise was a success and Anju was touched."
